Please read the notes carefully before updating BIOS.
1.Do not update the BIOS if the system is running fine. Unsuccessful BIOS flash may cause the system fails to boot up. The manufacturer is not responsible for any BIOS flash failure.
2.Make sure your M/B PCB version number first, and then read the updated description & special note carefully to check if the new BIOS version patch pertain to your current problem.
(How to recognize the M/B PCB version)
3.Please DO NOT reboot system, unplug power supply and remove battery during BIOS update process.
4.It is recommended to use the updated flash utility included in each BIOS download package.

Does P4IBMS support "chassis open detect"? I am unable to find the setting on the motherboard.

P4IBMS didn`t support "chassis open detect" feature

Please show me what problme is solved by 1.13b.I tested the following test cases on Win98 and WinME1. Sis screen saver : 1min / Monitor off : 2min == system cannot resume2. 3D Flower box screen saver : 1:min / Monitor off : 2min == systemcannot resume

V1.13C driver fixed also passed logo

On the P4IBMS BIOS ver 1.0D with an ATI Xpert 2000 Pro (Rage 128 Pro Ultra chipset) video card installed the system will not successfully recover from a Suspend To Ram. The system suspends fine, then when the power button is pressed to wake the system, the screen fills with garbage and the system reboots. In the BIOS when S1 is selected in place of S3, the system works. The same ATI video card works on ASUS and Giga-Byte boards with the Intel i82845 chipset. The operating systems I have tried are Windows 2000 Pro (Service Pack 2) and Windows XP Pro.

    V1.0e BIOS fixed

Could you please let me know what is VID 0 - 4 for? I did not find it fromuser's manual but on the silk screen it says VID0-4 for CPU VOL and short 1-2 isnormal and 2-3 is GND. Could you please explain to me when and how we shoulduse this jumper settings?

Actually , the jumer is only for first pliot run testing only , please ask your customer don't to adjust the jumper .

what voltages are, for all VID jumper configurations?

Please don't care this jumper , it is for facory special testing , it is for factoryspecial tooling/testing .

    21. Problem Description:The following error message appears at DirectSound test in DirectX Diagnostic Tool. This audio card does not support hardware buffer. Software buffer needs to be used.Is this as designed?

    It's Intel ICH2 limitation

P4IBMS and the P4IBAS boards have similar problem that the SMBIOS is not properlyreporting the number of PCI slots. you can see this through WMI (partof the OS) or through your DMICFG utility.

on board with 3 PCI slots + on board LAN = 4 , it is correctly .

Using three modules of 1GB registered ECC memory (3x1GB total 3GB), the board keeps restarting under Windows Me.

The Intel 845 chipset doesn't support "ECC with register memory" , this is an Intel specification limitation.

What is the maximum CPU and HDD capacity supported in P4IBMS v1.0X M/B ?

    P4IBMS v1.0X ,maximum CPU and HDD supported information as below, HDD:250G Pentium 4 400Mhz FSB (256K/512K L2 cache) CPU – 2.4G. Pentium 4 533Mhz FSB (512K L2 cache) CPU –No support Pentium 4 800Mhz FSB (512K L2 cache) CPU –No support Celeron 400Mhz FSB (128K L2 cache) CPU – 1.8G Mhz Pentium 4 533/800Mhz FSB (1M L2 cache) CPU – No support Celeron D 400Mhz FSB (256K L2 cache) CPU – No support
