Please read the notes carefully before updating BIOS.
1.Do not update the BIOS if the system is running fine. Unsuccessful BIOS flash may cause the system fails to boot up. The manufacturer is not responsible for any BIOS flash failure.
2.Make sure your M/B PCB version number first, and then read the updated description & special note carefully to check if the new BIOS version patch pertain to your current problem.
(How to recognize the M/B PCB version)
3.Please DO NOT reboot system, unplug power supply and remove battery during BIOS update process.
4.It is recommended to use the updated flash utility included in each BIOS download package.

What is the maximum CPU and HDD capacity supported on K7SEM v1.x?

K7SEM v1.x maximum CPU and HDD supported information as below,
CPU: AMD Duron 200Mhz FSB CPU - 950
           AMD Morgan 200Mhz FSB CPU - 1.2G
           AMD Athlon 200Mhz FSB CPU - 1.4G
           AMD Athlon XP (0.13u) 266Mhz FSB CPU - 2200+

K7SEM PCB 1.0 whether support AMD XP Thoroughbred CPU starts at 1.7GHz, 266MHz FSB, with voltage of 1.5; 1.6; 1.65v. (Model 8)

The K7SEM PCB 1.0 730S B1 stepping can support AMD Athlon XP CPU up to 2200+, But 730S A2 stepping don't support.

Can you please tell us if the K7SEM will support a 2600+ Athlon XP with the 1.1e BIOS or does it require a newer BIOS.

The K7SEM PCB 1.X BIOS V1.2b can fixed.

As you know, AMD just has the new Thoroughbred (0.13u) 1.7G and 1.8G CPU on the market. Could you confirm with me if K7SEM PCB 1.0 B1 stepping supports 1.7G and 1.8G Thoroughbred CPU (model "8") CPU or not. If it does support, is there any BIOS can to solve?

Please update to BIOS V1.2b or above.

I have 2 questions for K7SEM board as below:
1. Is there a limitation on the amount of SDRAM that can be used in any of our motherboards. What is the maximum that can be used?
2. When carrying out BIOS updates to motherboards. Do you have to update the BIOS version's one by one or can you just update to the latest?
i.e. K7SEM with V1.0g BIOS, Can you update directly to the latest V1.1e or do you have to update them in order, with V1.1 then V1.1b then V1.1e. We have conflicting information on this and want to clear it up.

To reply you questions as following:
1. We can from user manual "chapter 1: introduction" regarding the motherboard feature, how many can support memory maximum - The K7SEM accommodates PC100/133 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM), up to 1GB using two 3.3V unbuffered DIMM modules for example.
2. Yes, you can update to the latest version and you have to read BIOS release note first.

Why do my current BIOS shows "Unknown AMD CPU 1477MHZ" when running a Thoroughbred core based XP1700+. Do I need upgrade BIOS for high speed CPU?

Please upgrade to version 1.2A BIOS which solved Thoroughbred 1700+ with 1,6V core voltage CPU issue.

Could you email me the WHQL logo BIOS for K7SEM PCB 1.0? By the way, could you also confirm with me that K7SEM has been certified by WHQL? PCB 1.0 A2 or PCB 1.0 B1? Does it A2 or B1 stepping really matter to WHQL? Thanks for your help

The K7SEM PCB 1.0 B1 stepping certified by WHQL and BIOS is v1.1h 03/23/2002.WinXP MID: 583263
