ECS Announces the L4S5A/DX and L4S5M/DX Pentium 4 Mainboard with SiS645DX/962 Chipset

ECS Elitegroup is pleased to announce the release of the L4S5A/DX and L4S5M/DX Pentium 4 DDR mainboard with SiS 645DX chipset and state-of-the art features that delivers cutting edge performance.

The L4S5A/DX is an ATX Socket 478 board that supports Intel Pentium 4 processors (478 pins) up to 533 MHz FSB. The board comes with the high performance SiS 645DX/962 chipset that includes an integrated USB2.0 SiS 962 controller (optional) and integrated IEEE 1394 'fire wire' host controller (optional). With the IEEE 1394 controller integrated in the SiSR 962 chipset, data transfer speeds of up to 400Mbps can be reached for data interfacing between computers, peripherals and consumer electronic products. The board also comes with optional LAN (Realtek 8100/B) and optional Promise IDE RAID controller (RAID 0, 1), as well as AC97 Audio Codec. The L4S5A/DX has 3 DIMM DDR sockets for up to 3GB of DDR SDRAM (DDR266/200), or up to 2GB of DDR333 memory. There are 5 PCI slots, an AGP 4X slot and CNR slot for expansion.

There are 2 USB ports and an optional LAN connector. There is also an EPP/ECP parallel port and a 16550 high-speed serial I/O port. A range of audio ports is supplied, comprising line-in, line-out, microphone-in, CD-in and game port. Two PCI IDE interfaces support 4 IDE devices (PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, ATA 133/100/66), with the option of two independent ATA channels providing support for a further 4 IDE devices (PIO Mode 4, DMA Mode 2, ATA100/66), thus providing support for up to 8 ATI/ATAPI devices in total. There are also PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors.

Rounding out the features of the L4S5A/DX is the Magic Setting function that allows the CPU frequency to be selected via the BIOS. The board also comes with the STR (suspend-to-RAM) function.
