ECS Announces the K7VTA2 V2.X Mainboard with VIA KT266 Chipset

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) announced the release of the K7VTA2 mainboard, featuring the VIA KT266 chipset. It is an ATX Socket A (462 pin) board that will support XP, Athlon and Duron processors up to 200/266MHz FSB. The board comes with the high performance VIA KT266 chipset that comprises a VIA KT266 North Bridge and VT8233A South Bridge. Respected review sites including Tom's Hardware Guide and Anandtech consider the KT266 chipset to be the fastest and most powerful chipset currently available for the Socket A platform. It provides AC97 Audio Codec and AGP 4X support. This board also gives users the flexibility of using either DDR memory (DDR266/200) or SDRAM memory (PC133/100) by providing 2 DDR DIMM sockets and 2 SDRAM sockets, with a maximum memory capacity of 2GB. For expansion options, the K7VTA2 has 5 PCI slots, an AGP slot and CNR slot.

There are 2 USB ports, an EPP/ECP parallel port and two 16550 high-speed serial I/O ports. A range of audio ports is supplied, comprising line-in, line-out, microphone-in, CD-in and game port.. Two PCI IDE interfaces support 4 IDE devices (PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, ATA 66/100/133). There are also PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors.
