GF8200A(V1.0)
(no longer for sale)What HDMI version does GF8200A support?
GF8200A is built with Nvidia MCP78S chipset. It supports HDMI 1.3 and video resolution up to 1920 x 1200. HDMI 1.3 Prior to Version 1.3, HDMI supported a clock rate of 165MHz or 4.95 Gbps, transferring 165 million 24-bit pixels per second. Introduced in 2006, HDMI 1.3 increased the rate to 340MHz (10.2 Gbps) to accommodate 2560x1440 HDTV resolution with pixels up to 48 bits, known as "deep color." HDMI also supports eight channels of 24-bit uncompressed audio at 192kHz. HDMI 1.3 uses two types of cables. HDMI Category 1 cables are rated for 720p and 1080i TVs. For higher resolutions
GF8200A v1.0 Memory performace question.
1, What is "DCT Unganged Mode" ?
Answer : DCT = "DRAM controller". For DDR products, DCT0 controls channel A DDR pins and DCT1 controls channel B DDR pins. However, the processor may be configured:
(1) to behave as a single dual-channel DCT; this is called ganged mode;
(2) to behave as two single-channel DCTs; this is called unganged mode.
2, When use AM2+ CPU and 2 memory, for get best performance, follow setting is correct or not ? set "DCT Unganged Mode" at "Auto(Ganged Mode)" mode, plug-in memory in slot 3 and slot 4.
Answer : According to AMD's information, the unganged mode will get better performance than ganged mode.
3, When use AM2+ CPU and 1 memory, for get best performance, do we need to plug-in memory at slot 3 ?
Answer : Yes.
4, If use AM2 CPU, for get better performance, do we need to set "DCT Unganged Mode" at "UngangedMode" mode ?
Answer: AM2 CPU does not support this function.
Does GF8200A (V1.0)can support 1920 * 1200 and 1680 *1050 by used 02/06/2009 BIOS ?
Yes, this model is no problem to support these resolutions with BIOS (2009/2/6) and driver(V175.16) available at ECS web. In addition to BIOS and driver, the monitor must be supported also.
The screen get the flicker under OS when moving the mouse on the top of screen
This problem can be solved either by “loading BIOS defaults” or setting “HT Frequency” of “Advanced Setup” in BIOS to [Auto] on this mainboard.
Can GF8200A support dual monitors by D-Sub and HDMI?

Why I cannot see the settings of NB Frequency, CPU Voltage and Multiplier in BIOS than Black Edition?
The multiplier of the North bridge simply does not work when North Bridge is set to 2.0Ghz, If I shutdown and after a while restarting the pc, the North Bridge is set to 1.6Ghz.
Please visit the following website for downloading the service BIOS which can fix the multiplier of the North bridge does not work issue ,then try to update it .
