Delivering exciting new heights in digital entertainment to owners of wall-mounted big screen LCD or plasma TVs, Elitegroup Computer Systems will showcase the state-of-the-art EKT media center PC featuring the Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU at Computex 2006 in Taipei.
Taipei, Taiwan, May 24, 2006 –The compact, expandable and powerful ECS EKT media center PC is a DVD player, DVD recorder, personal video recorder, digital photo frame, high-end stereo, game console and more –all housed in a simply smart one-box design, a compact attractive package with full consumer electronics connectivity.. This complete home entertainment center can stream recorded TV programs or music throughout a home, transfer contents to a PC in any room in the home and is designed to work in harmony with existing AV systems. The EKT delivers high definition media interface video output to 720p and 1080i.
The ECS EKT is powered by an Intel® Core™2 Duo family CPU, a desktop-optimized, dual-core processor, based on the new state-of-the-art Intel® Core microarchitecture. Core 2 Duo features 65-nm semiconductor technology and numerous advanced features that help deliver higher-performance platforms that consume less power than previous platform generations. The EKT features a rotatable VFD and receiver module that displays current status of system operation when the unit is wall-mounted.
Specifically designed for use with big-screen wall-mounted TVs, the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Emerald and Intel® Viiv™ digital home entertainment platform standard-compliant EKT connects easily to TVs and home theatre systems, acting as a 'control center' to unify', organize and control disparate home entertainment system elements. The ECS EKT's design is based on the 'future express' concept. Its rounded edges and heat release cover design evoke images of a train running along a rail. Just as a train transports people stop-by-stop to meet new people and experience new things, the EKT runs along a virtual entertainment 'track’ bring new media and new experiences to its owner. And with this simply smart design, the compact EKT fits with even the most elegantly appointed family room, den or living room.
The ECS EKT home media center delivers an unprecedented audio/video experience yet offers amazingly easy connectivity.
It is set up for Dolby 7.1 channel surround sound HD audio; delivers high definition media interface video output to 720p and 1080i; and works with ATSC, DVB-T and HDTV signals.
Designed for people who are not AV experts, the ECS EKT provides all the ports and plugs needed to connect entertainment gear. With thoughtful consideration, plugs are nicely grouped and well-illustrated by icons and legends for users' easy access. Video outputs include Y,Pb,Pr, SCART, VGA, CVBS, S-Video and HDMI. Audio output options include dual channel RCA audio input, coaxial/optical S/P DIF and 7.1 channel audio.
The ECS EKT can be configured with up to 2GB of fast DDR II dual channel memory. It comes with Intel® Clear Video Technology-based graphics. With SATA II hard drives, an onboard 8-in-1 multimedia card reader, a total of four high speed USB 2.0 ports and an IEEE1394 port, the EKT is ready to handle and store a huge volume of media in all the most popular formats.
It features dual NTSC (PCI/ PCIE) + ATSC (Mini PCI), Dual PAL/SECOM or Dual Hybrid (PCI) TV tuners, making possible the simultaneous recording of two television programs.
The ECS EKT comes with remote receiver and a wireless keyboard receiver module.
